About the Role:
The Learning and Teaching Team is comprised of the Senior School Principal, Head of Department - Learning and Teaching, and four Learning and Teaching Pedagogy coaches. A key area of focus is the embedding of a consistent language for our learning and teaching practices. The ideal candidate will have a contemporary leadership style, focused on collegial engagement, collaboration and innovation to foster and drive continuous pedagogy improvement throughout our school.
As the Head of Department - Learning and Teaching you will:
Lead our community of forward thinkers by promoting a culture of continuous improvement and growth aligned to our school vision and values.Have a strong understanding of evidence-based teaching practices and lead the implementation of the school's pedagogical framework.Lead professional development and opportunities for self-reflection to teaching staff.Promote a collegial culture of mutual trust and high expectations whereby staff feel supported to share effective teaching and learning practices.Foster a culture of creativity and critical reflection with open and dynamic conversations within and across the school's leadership team.Responsibilities for the Head of Department - Learning and Teaching include, but are not limited to: Lead the school department to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focused on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.Embed socially just practices in daily school life.Set high standards for student and staff performance.Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.Form partnerships with students, parents, other government agencies, and community groups.Be futures oriented and strategic.Understand the legislation and policies that impact schooling, especially in relation to students and staff within the school department.Manage the human, financial, facilities and curriculum resources of the school department to achieve goals.Interested?
