Toowoomba State High is seeking a dynamic leader to work in a collaborative team to provide wellbeing and engagement support to students.This role is a critical piece in the designing of systems and structures that encourage students to excel in learning while also attending to their social and emotional wellbeing. A key component of this role involves student case management processes to provide targeted interventions in attendance, behaviour and academic achievement, ensuring that students who require additional support receive the necessary guidance and resources to succeed.The Head of Student Services will provide Tier 2 targeted support for students experiencing difficulties in the classroom or playground, addressing individual needs to their overall school experience. Clear communication to all stakeholders will be vital to the success of the role.About The RoleThe HOD Student Services will work as part of a broader team delivering on the school's Strategic Plan particularly in the areas of Wellbeing & Engagement.You will have responsibility for leading the following activities and delivery of the following key tasks:Provide leadership and guidance for the implementation of innovative measures aimed at improving student learning outcomes and attendance in schools where a significant percentage of students may have a disadvantaged background, ensuring quality learning outcomes for all students.Where requested, prepare all data returns for the Principal.Provide management and engagement strategies including induction activities of new arrivals, and advise on specific academic, social and emotional needs of new arrivals.Monitor students' individual performance and behaviour and develop and implement intervention strategies where necessary.A Mandatory Requirement Of This Role IsCurrent full registration, or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration, as a teacher in Queensland.
