Sarina State High School exists to make a real difference to the learning and development of every student for life as a citizen, within the context of a caring and supportive environment and through productive partnerships of students, parents and staff.
Sarina State High School was established in 1956 with an enrolment of only 40 students.
In 1964 the school moved to the current location in Anzac Street where it continues to grow and flourish within the community.
About the Role
The role of the Head of Department - Student Services is proactive, data-driven, and relational.
They inspire a positive culture for learning through high expectations, promote school pride and belonging, develop students' personal responsibility, motivate academic engagement, facilitate school and community participation, enhance positive relationships, and support every student, every day to achieve success at school.
The position will focus on monitoring, tracking, analyzing, and triangulating data to inform direction and provide intervention for students to maintain high expectations.
This role will assist in the coordination of key events specific to different year levels and other extracurricular activities that contribute to student development.
In many situations, the role will lead initiatives that enhance student engagement with a focus on developing school culture, serving as the initial point of contact for parents, staff, and students.
