About Us QASMT is an International Baccalaureate World School and is proud to uphold the values of an IB education.
QASMT offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) as its core curriculum in Years 11-12, the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IBMYP) to our students in Years 7-9 and an IBDP preparation program in Year 10.
The IBDP is a demanding pre-university course of study that culminates in international external examinations.
It has earned a reputation for rigorous learning and assessment, and as such gives IBD holders access to the world's leading universities.
The program incorporates the strengths of a traditional curriculum, but with three important additional features, Creativity Action and Service, Theory of Knowledge and Extended Essay.
The IBMYP provides a rigorous framework through which the Australian Curriculum is delivered, with a specific focus on Approaches to Teaching and Learning that provide a strong focus on pedagogy and student-centred learning.
QASMT is partnered with the University of Queensland who offer a range of enrichment programs to nurture highly capable students.
About the Role QASMT is seeking a Head of Department Inclusion and Wellbeing (HOD I&W) who will provide professional leadership and management of the student support team as well as support high quality teaching, effective use of resources, and high standards of learning and achievement for all students.
The HoD will lead a team of teachers in the development of specific curriculum and pedagogical approaches suitable for motivating and engaging highly capable students and lead the collection of NCCD data.
The HoD I&W holds its responsibilities across the year levels 7-12 in the areas of inclusion, wellbeing and student leadership and will assist the Principal in the overall leadership and development of the Academy.
The suitable applicant will be a high calibre, outstanding educational leader with a contemporary leadership style focused on collegial engagement, collaboration and innovation in order to foster and drive continuous improvement throughout the Academy.
We are seeking a leader who is passionate about engaging and supporting students to achieve the highest possible outcomes, preferably with experience in leading inclusive education practices.
In addition, the role requires a passionate, high-energy leader who is able to work in a fast-paced, high expectations environment, with a proven record of accomplishment of working with high achieving students.
