An exciting opportunity exists for a focused and dynamic leader, passionate about supporting student engagement and wellbeing for 2024, commencing 23 January until 12 December 2025, unless otherwise determined.
You will take the lead on overseeing the Year 9 cohort as well as the school's strategic agenda associated with E Learning.
About the Role This Head of Department position will be suited to an energetic and future-focused individual who has the ability to provide support for the diverse proactive and reactive needs of the Year 9 cohort.
You will play a vital role in collation and analysis of student TrackEd and OneSchool data and capacity building of staff to ultimately deliver quality teaching and learning practices for students.
You will also have as part of your portfolio, leadership of E-learning within the school, bringing together the key experts associated with this portfolio (e.g., QLearn, DayMaps, BYOD) to ensure student and community engagement in these platforms is maximised for most effective use.
Your practice needs to have a strong student-focused approach and the ability to build strong professional relationships with students, teachers, parents, and the community.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provide management and engagement strategies including induction activities of new arrivals, and advise on specific academic, social, and emotional needs of new arrivals.Monitor students' individual performance and behaviour and develop and implement intervention strategies where necessary.Communicate and work with parents, staff, higher education institutes, and State Schools Division to develop strategies to improve learning outcomes, student achievements, and attendance.Please refer to the attached role description for any mandatory requirements for this position.
