Kelvin Grove State College is seeking applicants for a full-time role as Head of Department (Student Services) in 2025 to join our school community. The Head of Department - Student Services role at Kelvin Grove State College is known locally as "Head of Year". The college introduced these Head of Year roles across Years 6 to 12 in 2024.

Kelvin Grove State College is made up of three sub-schools: Junior, Middle and Senior.
Junior School - Years Prep to 5 (approx. 810 students)Middle School - Year 6 to 9 (approx. 1,550 students)Senior School - Years 10 to 12 (approx. 1,370 students)About the Role: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Work closely with the Year 8 Deputy Principal to support the academic, social-emotional, and wellbeing of the cohort.Collaborate, lead, and manage as required, to work as part of the Middle School Team to plan for cohort and College events.Be an active member of the collective Heads of Year team, led by the Deputy Principal of Holistic Education.Manage responsibilities relating to student wellbeing, attendance, engagement, behaviour, and leadership.Lead the development, coordination, and implementation of the pastoral care program.Actively participate in curriculum delivery with a teaching load of one line.The Head of Year role is suitable for a dedicated, motivated, and enthusiastic individual, who has the ability to lead agendas to support student outcomes, and work collaboratively and respectfully within a team, and with the broader community.
The ideal candidate will set high standards for student and staff performance, be futures oriented and strategic, and provide a holistic approach to student management and wellbeing that is both enabling and proactive.
