About the RoleHead of Department Student Services know their cohort and ensure they are connected to their peers and feel a sense of belonging at school. This role is proactive, data-driven, and relational. Head of Department Student Services advocate for and facilitate programs to meet the needs of the students in their care. This is a pivotal role to assist students be the best they can be through a focus on both student wellbeing and the good order and management of the school.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provide leadership and guidance for the implementation of innovative measures aimed at improving student learning outcomes and attendance.Monitor students' individual performance and behaviour and develop and implement intervention strategies where necessary.Work with and provide tools for the school leadership team and teachers to utilise to improve student achievement and attendance.Inspire and motivate students and staff through positive role modelling and being responsible for continuous improvement of the team within the context of the school.Model best practice in the implementation of personalised learning, educational programs or curriculum initiatives, monitoring student achievement and teacher effectiveness.Assume a lead role within the school leadership team with the development and implementation of strategies relating to targets relevant to school priorities.Develop and maintain links to local community groups and businesses.Lead and co-ordinate the coaching and mentoring of staff members, developing collegiality, building a learning and development culture, modelling innovative teaching strategies and encouraging appropriate professional development.Lead the development, implementation and review of teaching and learning strategies in targeted programs.How to Apply Please attach a brief resume including contact details for 2 referees (referees should have an understanding of your relevant previous work history); andA 2 page written response to the Selection Criteria found within the attached Role Description.We welcome all applicants to share any support needed to ensure our recruitment process is inclusive.
