We are currently seeking applications for three (3) Heads of Department - Student Services (Head of Year) to join our school community, commencing in 2025.

Your Role: The Head of Department - Student Services (Head of Year) will be responsible for working with the Executive Principal and the Leadership and Management Team to enact the school's ongoing improvement agenda.
The successful applicants will significantly contribute to a high expectations school culture that is focused on continuous improvement to maximise each student's performance and potential.
This will be achieved through proactively developing the growth of students with your cohort by tracking and connecting their academic and social outcomes to provide a holistic view of each student.
You will be instrumental in working as part of the school's leadership team to provide targeted and timely interventions to maximise each student's learning.
You will develop and nurture positive working relationships with, and between, students, parents and staff to personalise education for individual students in a large and complex school community.
As the Head of Department - Student Services, you will have responsibility for but not limited to the following: Setting and maintaining high standards for student performance by leading your cohort to uphold the spirit of State High with a specific focus on improving learning outcomes and fostering a growth mindset.
Providing leadership and guidance for the implementation of innovative measures aimed at improving student learning outcomes and attendance ensuring quality learning outcomes for all students.
Leading a culture of developing effective learning behaviours that enable each student to develop intellectually, personally and socially.
Accessing, tracking, connecting and analysing student data on a weekly/term/semester basis to target improvements in academic and social outcomes.
Initiating and monitoring individual student learning plans by connecting and engaging key stakeholders in the student's life as required.
Maintaining a high visibility and presence within the school community.
Identifying and regularly acknowledging the progress, efforts, achievements of students in your cohort.
Embedding socially just practices in daily school life.
Actively participating in learning and ongoing professional development that enable you to improve both as a leader and a classroom teacher.
Maintain and develop productive and positive partnerships with parents, all staff, other government agencies and community groups to maximise each student's performance and potential.
About You: This role will be suited to an energetic and strengths-focused individual who has the ability to lead both strategically and operationally towards shared goals.
The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of current educational research, be committed to continual learning, demonstrate initiative, be futures oriented and strategic.
