Chinchilla State High School has an exciting opportunity for an energetic and dedicated Head of Department - Senior Schooling (focusing on Senior Secondary and senior attainment) to join the Chinchilla leadership team, delivering the vision of State Schools Division.
This role is offered on a full-time temporary basis from 23 January 2025 until 12 December 2025, unless otherwise determined. The successful applicant will develop the quality of teaching and learning and nurture positive relationships between students, teachers, the community and stakeholders.

About the RoleAs Head of Department - Senior Schooling, your role will include:
Implementing programs that support student wellbeing and academic success tailored for Year 11 and 12 students.Developing and refining individual support plans that respond to the unique needs of each student in the senior phase.Engaging with the wider school community, including parents and external agencies, to ensure comprehensive support for all senior students.Promoting initiatives that foster a respectful and encouraging school culture, recognising student achievements and contributions.Key Responsibilities: Monitor academic progress and QCE attainment for the senior cohorts.Support students' academic progress by developing and implementing proactive wellbeing initiatives and intervention strategies.Address student behaviour and performance concerns in alignment with the school's Student Code of Conduct.Work closely with Administration, Heads of Department, and the student support services team to ensure all students are included and supported.Lead the development and implementation of strategies that promote a positive school culture and enhance student wellbeing.Please refer to the attached role description for any mandatory requirements for this position.
