Calliope State High School is seeking a dynamic Head of Department - Middle (Years 9 and 10) or Senior (Years 11 and 12) to lead the ongoing improvement of the educational outcomes for our students.

About Calliope State High School Calliope State High School is rebuilding its culture and identity as the school of choice for our town. Our school opened in 2020 and exists to make a real difference to the learning and development of every student within a caring and supportive environment.
About the Role We are seeking a Head of Department in either the Middle School or Senior School, to work collaboratively with our team across curriculum areas. You will have responsibility for leading the following activities:
Lead the school department to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focused on providing quality learning outcomes for all students. Embed socially just practices in daily school life. Set high standards for student and staff performance. Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development. Form partnerships with students, parents, other government agencies, and community groups. About You The successful applicant will have:
Strong interpersonal skills. The ability to build the confidence and competence of teachers. Ability to oversee curriculum implementation. Ability to work with the executive team to deliver the priorities of the school's strategic plan. Please refer to the attached role description for any mandatory requirements for this position.
