MSC has an exciting opportunity for a temporary Head of Department (H.O.D.) position to join our Leadership Team at 0.2FTE for 2025.
The H.O.D. Design Technology at Meridan SC leads and manages the Industrial Design and Food Technology curriculum across year 7-12 to maximise attendance, engagement and attainment for our secondary students. The HOD Design Technology manages a diverse team of teachers and resources to deliver high quality teaching programs to improve student outcomes.

About the Role As the Head of Department Design Technology, you will:
Lead the implementation and delivery of the 7-10 Australian Curriculum Design Technology.Lead the implementation and delivery of the 10-12 courses (General, Applied and VET offerings).Lead the explicit improvement agenda of Design Technology faculty aligning with the MSC improvement agenda.Develop the quality of teaching and learning and nurture positive relationships between students, teachers and stakeholders to maximise educational outcomes for students.Specific duties include:
Curriculum leadership and management for Design, Industrial and Food Technology (Australian Curriculum, Vocational Education and QCAA General and Applied).Develop and grow a contemporary vision for curriculum areas aligned to industry needs and deliver this through a change management process.Lead implementation of the MSC Teaching and Learning cycle.Lead moderation processes as per MSC Teaching and Learning cycle.Lead implementation of MSC improvement agenda in Faculty context via facilitating change management.Instructional leadership and coaching within and across faculty.Line management of staff and manage APR process and staff performance.Manage the human, financial and curriculum resources of the Design Technology faculty.The Head of Department is accountable to and under the direction of the Principal or delegate.
About You Skills and knowledge in the areas below are preferred:
