Head of Department (Curriculum) - Waraburra State SchoolWaraburra State School is looking for a dedicated and passionate individual to join the leadership team as Head of Department - Curriculum on a temporary full-time basis, for a period of 12 months, unless otherwise determined.
This position presents an exciting opportunity to join a leadership team with an unrelenting focus on the implementation of an effective whole school approach to teaching and learning.
This focus extends to overseeing the development, implementation, and evaluation of the school's version 9 Australian Curriculum, ensuring it meets the needs of all students and aligns with current educational standards and best practices.
Waraburra State School staff are currently eligible for the department's retention bonuses which total to $2100 per year.

About The Role Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Lead the relevant curriculum areas or whole school program to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.Embed socially just practices in daily school life.Set high standards for student and staff performance.Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.Form partnerships with students, parents, other government agencies, and community groups.Our Ideal Candidate Will Possess These Qualities Have a strong knowledge of the science of reading and evidence-based practices and strategies suitable for teaching prep to year six students.Be able to work with individual teachers within classrooms, as well as deliver cohort and staff professional learning sessions aligned to DoE CARF requirements and the Australian Curriculum, with a strong emphasis on the pedagogy which could be applied to engage learners.Have a strong knowledge of how to differentiate to support diverse learners and be a skilled and experienced teacher with recent classroom experience.Knowledge of and a demonstrated leadership of transferable high yield literacy and numeracy instructional routines.Experience working in settings with students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds would also be advantageous.How To Apply Please attach a brief resume including contact details for 2 referees (referees should have an understanding of your relevant previous work history); andA 2-pg written statement in response to the attached role description.We welcome all applicants to share any support needed to ensure our recruitment process is inclusive.
