We are seeking an experienced Head of Department (Curriculum) for a full-time temporary position commencing 23 January 2025 to 12 December 2025.
As a Head of Department - Curriculum (Years 5-6 & Specialists) at Varsity College, you will be an integral part of our primary teaching team, leading the delivery of a vibrant curriculum to our students and possessing a strong knowledge of content and pedagogy.
You will specialise in the ability to focus on data, differentiation and digital practice for the diverse learning needs of our student cohort, particularly in the area of the upper primary phase of learning.
You will possess a passion for promoting and embedding an inclusive culture and practices within the school community, ensuring equity and excellence, with a strong desire to engage, connect and enhance learning outcomes for all students.
About the Role: Under the direction and leadership of the Deputy Principal in your role as Head of Department (5-6 & Specialists) you will:
Focus on initiatives to support the educational outcomes for students, specifically in the upper primary phase of learning.
Determine actions for at risk students through data analysis at key junctures, and strategise interventions.
Work with, and build teachers' capability in using data to provide effective differentiated instruction to a diverse student cohort.
Lead the development and implementation of high-quality curriculum (V9) and pedagogical practices to increase student engagement through the provision of high-quality advice to the school leadership team, classroom teachers and support school staff.
In conjunction with the Deputy Principal develop, coordinate and implement targeted teaching intervention in the areas of Literacy and Numeracy in response to student data to support every student succeeding.
