Ormeau State School on the northern Gold Coast has an exciting opportunity to join our leadership team as Head of Department - Curriculum from 24 January 2025 until 27 June 2025 unless otherwise determined.

As the Head of Department (Curriculum) you will:
Lead curriculum focus in line with school and departmental initiativesParticipate in delivering the vision of State Schools DivisionDevelop the quality of teaching and learningNurture positive relationships between students, teachers and stakeholders.The Head of Department (Curriculum) is accountable to and under the direction of the Principal or delegate.
Your Role You will have responsibility for leading the following activities and delivery of the following key tasks:
Lead the relevant curriculum areas or whole school program to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focused on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.Embed socially just practices in daily school life.Set high standards for student and staff performance.Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.Form partnerships with students, parents, other government agencies, and community groups.Be futures oriented and strategic.Understand the legislation and policies that impact on schooling especially in relation to students and staff within the school department.Manage the human, financial, facilities and curriculum resources of the curriculum areas or whole school program to achieve goals.About You The ideal candidate will have experience in:
Prep - 2 Curriculum leadershipSupporting and modelling for teachers in the delivery of Reading through the Australian CurriculumSupporting teachers through the roll out of Australian Curriculum version 9Working alongside a large leadership team to support and coach staff to provide excellent teaching and learning.Please refer to the attached role description for any mandatory requirements for this position.
