Head of Department (Curriculum) - Geebung Special SchoolEducation (Organisation site)Metropolitan North Region, Early Childhood and State Schools DivisionWe are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Department (Curriculum) to lead and enhance our curriculum development initiatives at Geebung Special School.The ideal candidate will be passionate about education and possess a strong track record in curriculum design and implementation.This position is offered on a temporary full-time basis for all of 2025 unless otherwise determined.The Department of Education is dedicated to building an inclusive and diverse workforce that reflects the community and schools we support by treating everyone with respect and dignity. The methods of assessing suitability in the recruitment process may vary, including making reasonable adjustments to support applicants at all stages of the process and employee lifecycle.Geebung Special School is a special school for students of primary and prior to school age (birth to 12) who have intellectual and other disabilities. As the only primary special school in the Brisbane area, our highly skilled teachers are able to utilise specialised approaches to early years learning. The school caters for 115 school-aged students and up to 40 students of pre-compulsory age. All students have been identified as requiring significant educational support arising from intellectual impairment and other disabilities.Geebung Special School is situated on a large block of land featuring lots of green space. Our school features an orchard and a wide variety of play spaces to promote creative, imaginative, and fun learning opportunities. Our school prides itself on our classrooms designed to promote inquiry learning as well as a purpose-built gymnasium, indoor pool, bike track, sensory garden, oval, and school hall.
