This role is offered on a temporary full-time basis, for a period of 12 months, unless otherwise determined.As Head of Department (Curriculum), you will guide curriculum development, support staff professional growth, and ensure alignment with IB standards and practices.

About the RoleHead of Program (Curriculum) focusing on the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) within Education Queensland, five key responsibilities might include:
Curriculum Leadership: Lead the development, implementation, and continuous refinement of the PYP curriculum to meet IB standards and Education Queensland requirements.Professional Development: Provide guidance and professional learning opportunities for teachers to ensure effective delivery of the IB PYP framework.Assessment and Reporting: Oversee PYP assessment practices, including formative and summative assessments, ensuring alignment with IB criteria and Queensland educational standards.Community Engagement: Collaborate with parents, teachers, and the broader school community to foster an understanding of the IB philosophy and its benefits.Compliance and Accreditation: Ensure the school meets all requirements for IB accreditation and Queensland Department of Education regulations, conducting regular audits and preparing for IB reviews.About YouMust-Haves:
IB PYP Expertise: Extensive knowledge and experience with the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme, including curriculum development and implementation.Leadership Experience: Proven ability to lead and mentor teaching staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.Curriculum Design: Strong understanding of inquiry-based learning and experience aligning it with Queensland educational standards.Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for engaging with staff, parents, and the broader community.Accreditation Knowledge: Familiarity with the IB accreditation process and Queensland Department of Education compliance requirements.Please refer to the attached role description for any mandatory requirements for this position.
