Due to continued growth and evolution of the critical Technology function in Allied Credit, a newly created leadership position, Head of Data, has been created with a primary responsibility to lead and develop a small team of professionals and work closely with the Chief Information Officer (CIO) to establish and execute the organisation's data strategy. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in data management, strong change skills in relation to data transformation, and experience in Data Warehouse migrations. We are looking for a forward-thinking data strategist who can marry emerging technologies like AI and machine learning with the opportunities in a highly regulated industry context. As a leadership role, the Head of Data is pivotal in developing strategic capability, talent, and intellectual property within the organization, and is expected to promote a data-first approach, advocating for data literacy across the organisation. What you will be doing Establish and maintain strong relationships within the business to define and solve business problems using advanced analytic techniques. Partner with architecture and development teams to build world-leading analytics and decisioning platforms and tools, recognising trends and the implications to the organisation. Establish a robust data governance framework to ensure data quality, data security, compliance, and accessibility across the organisation and use of proprietary data by external partners. Define data ownership, data stewardship roles, and metadata management. Develop and strengthen the team of data professionals covering a range of disciplines to develop strategic capability, talent & IP. Align data initiatives with overall business strategy, understanding business goals and identifying how data can drive growth, improve efficiencies, and reduce costs. Lead large-scale data transformation programs, such as migrating data infrastructure to the cloud or integrating disparate data sources across the organization. Manage change in relation to data transformation with minimal disruption, through strong business engagement and user training. Leverage AI and machine learning to drive innovation in products, operations, and customer service. Stay ahead of trends, keeping up with emerging technologies and methodologies/frameworks. Your background Proven experience of leadership within data management and analytics, including establishing a robust data governance framework. Strong technical knowledge of modern data and analytics frameworks within a banking or financial services context and modernisation strategies for data handling, ways of working, and methodologies. Proven experience of working closely with business functions to align delivery with broader business goals. Communicating complex technical details to non-technical stakeholders and C-suite executives is vital to securing buy-in for major projects. Strong risk management experience, including cybersecurity, data protection, business resilience, and disaster recovery. Why work for Allied Credit?
