The current greenfield landscape provides an opportunity for the successful candidate to define and drive the data strategy, build a team, and elevate their career.The Role:As a valued member of the organization, you will play a key role in designing and driving the Data and Artificial Intelligence capability. You will partner closely with the senior leadership team (SLT) and build out a greenfield landscape for a successful future state data capability. Reporting to an impressive CIO (Chief Information Officer), the role is ideally suited to an individual that is an adept leader of people, remains in touch with the newest technologies, and enjoys driving operations.Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:Develop and execute the organization's AI and data strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and driving innovation across departments.Build, lead, and mentor a multidisciplinary team of data scientists, AI engineers, and data analysts, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.Establish data governance frameworks, policies, and ethical AI practices to ensure the secure and responsible use of data and AI technologies.Drive AI research and explore emerging technologies, applying cutting-edge techniques in machine learning, natural language processing, and predictive analytics to solve business challenges.Oversee the development and optimization of data architecture, pipelines, and platforms to support large-scale data processing, storage, and analysis.Partner with key stakeholders across the organization (e.g., IT, product, operations) to integrate AI solutions and data-driven insights into business operations and decision-making.Implement metrics and KPIs to assess the impact of AI initiatives and ensure continuous improvement in the use of data and AI.Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and manage risks associated with AI technologies, including bias, security, and ethical considerations.Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to ensure robust protection of data assets and AI models, implementing security protocols to safeguard against data breaches and AI vulnerabilities.The Successful candidate:You will have:Previously acted in a Head of Data roleProven experience in building out the data and AI capability for a large enterpriseHands-on experience with data technologies and cloud platformsStrong business acumen with an ability to engage, collaborate, and influence people across different business units and stakeholders at all levelsWhat's on offer?$260k - $285k + super + 20% bonusPosition can be based in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, or Canberra.Impressive scope to forge strong relationships across the businessTruly unique opportunity to drive the business forwardElevate your career as a Head of Data & AI
