The Role
Reporting into the Chief Customer and Strategy Officer (CCSO), the Head of Corporate Relations and Communications is a newly created role.
You will be responsible for developing and implementing the enterprise strategy for corporate relations and policy positions with key external stakeholders including industry bodies, government and semi-government bodies, media, and the wider public.
You will achieve success by ensuring the organisation has a cohesive and consistent external corporate voice to stakeholders aligned with the company's strategic objectives, whilst building strong external relationships and executing a clear proactive and reactive action plan to promote and protect the business interests of MLC Life Insurance and its customers, business partners and shareholders.
About You
An experienced corporate affairs and communications professional, you possess a minimum of 10+ years of experience in corporate affairs, public policy, media and external communications, government relations, or industry affairs roles within the financial services and/or insurance industry.
You can speak to your success in developing and executing on strategic and impactful media, communications, political and public policy campaigns whilst developing and managing relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders such as the national and trade media, industry peak bodies, government and other third-party stakeholders.
Acting as a thought leader in this space, you possess and demonstrate integrity in your dealings, demonstrating empathy and willingness to listen to and consider stakeholder views, reflecting the culture and values of our business.
Lastly, you possess outstanding communication skills (both verbal and written) and the willingness to play a hands-on role when necessary to deliver as a team on our strategy.
