Huntlee Academy is a not-for-profit established in 2014 to provide work, skill development, and employment pathways to higher level career opportunities for local and disadvantaged people including Indigenous Australians, youth, long term unemployed, mature age workers, and people with a disability.
Huntlee Academy employs over 40 staff.
The team at Huntlee Academy provide a range of property services via our Business Units.
Services include fencing, landscaping, and horticulture.
We are currently expanding to higher technical and sophisticated levels of work across larger scale projects.
We are looking for an applicant who is well organised, confident and proficient leading a diverse team.
Having a keen eye for detail and the ability to communicate effectively is also required.
A trade background with strong ethical standards and interpersonal skills is key to this role.
This opportunity will see you working closely with the CEO and Senior Executives of the business, to expand the construction arm of Huntlee Academy.
This role would suit someone looking to either transition from a traditional residential or commercial builder to a role without the associated stress that typically comes with mainstream construction.
Key Responsibilities Supervise and lead the construction team including sub-contractors and trades.
Primary point of contact for all stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies.
Planning and management of project schedules and deadlines.
Ensure WHS compliance, regulations, codes of practice and site inductions.
Quality assurance of work.
Implement and administer efficient and effective building management strategies.
Take initiative and manage the day-to-day works on site.
Read, understand, and interpret construction drawings and project plans.
Address design and construction issues that arise on site.
Provide workable solutions to daily site obstacles.
Inspect work to ensure it meets compliance with relevant plans and building codes.
Mentor and coach trainees and apprentices.
Key Requirements Completed tertiary/trade certificate in relevant discipline.
Demonstrated experience within a similar business builder/ developer.
Proven track record of leading teams across estimating, design and delivery.
Minimum 10 years within the construction industry with strong tenure.
In-depth knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and materials.
Previous demonstrated experience in mentoring and developing.
Working knowledge of WHS procedures.
Demonstrated commitment to, and knowledge of, HSE and quality management.
Experience in senior management essential.
Skills/Experience/Qualifications in utility locating.
