About FHS Fortescue Hydrogen Systems (FHS), part of Fortescue Energy, is the original equipment manufacturer of electrolyser systems that produce green hydrogen through electrolysis.
Fortescue aims to use green hydrogen to decarbonise our mining and shipping fleet, with an ambitious goal to reach real zero by 2030.

Key ResponsibilitiesAs the Head of Commercial for FHS, you will:
Lead the commercial assessment, economic assessment, planning reporting & analysis, and commercial execution teams for the FHS business.Develop commercial strategy in collaboration with product development, sales, and strategy teams for priority partners, customer sectors, M&A targets, offtake, and investment opportunities.Plan and implement negotiation strategy and negotiations with internal stakeholders at the most senior levels.Represent FHS in all external commercial negotiations for the business in line with Fortescue values.Establish and maintain trusted partnerships with external parties and represent FHS in alignment with Fortescue values.Develop acquisition and joint venture strategy and implement through negotiations to successful commercial close.Provide commercial insights to the business to directly influence strategy and decision-making.Write board reports and present directly to Fortescue Energy Executive, CEO, Board, and Board sub-committees.Lead and build exceptional commercial acumen in the team and across the broader business.Identify and understand commercial opportunities in the green hydrogen equipment supply sector and develop proposals that ensure Fortescue is the first mover in markets.Support the FHS CEO in identifying and presenting commercial ideas and projects to senior levels of government.Qualifications and ExperienceDegree qualified in commerce, law, engineering, finance, or related field (or equivalent).Extensive experience in leading and negotiating complex commercial arrangements in heavy industry, including international M&A and joint ventures.Demonstrated ability to work with senior government decision-makers and influence key stakeholders to drive high-performing teams and successful outcomes.A deep understanding of project economics, risks, and sector dynamics with an OEM, energy, or infrastructure industries.Expertise in structuring diverse agreements, including land, operating, shareholder, tolling, offtake, and government partnerships.Strong experience in financial assessments, feasibility studies, due diligence, and investment recommendations for large-scale projects.Deep understanding of the infrastructure and/or energy sector and various risks associated with this.Ability to understand and influence key decision-makers and motivate high-performing teams across a varied and diverse background.Experience working with government decision-makers at Secretary and Director General level.About Us Be part of something big.
