The OpportunityWe are seeking a Head of Category to lead the strategic direction and management of our product assortment and categories globally. This leadership role involves building and managing a category management team to optimise portfolio performance, ensuring strong decision-making and strategic alignment to drive growth and profitability. The Head of Category will be responsible for the health of the product portfolio, overseeing the lifecycle management of existing products, and leading the creation and integration of new products.
The RoleDevelop and implement category strategies and annual plans that align with the company's overall objectives and drive market growth.Set strategic goals and KPIs for category performance, ensuring alignment with financial targets and business objectives.Identify and evaluate new market opportunities and category expansion strategies.In-depth understanding and comprehensive market analysis to identify opportunities, trends, and competitive dynamics across different regions.Manage the product lifecycles, including product development, pricing, and promotion strategies.Develop and implement pricing strategies to optimise revenue and profitability.Work closely with Design, R&D, Marketing, and Supply Chain teams to create innovative and market-leading furniture products.Collaborate with supply chain and sales to optimise product assortment and inventory levels.Develop and track KPIs to ensure category goals are met and financial targets are achieved, including reporting and recommendations to the Executive Team.Analyse sales data and performance metrics to assess category success and identify areas for improvement.Develop and manage the category budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and cost control.Monitor financial performance, including profitability, margin analysis, and return on investment.Collaborate with members of the Global Leadership Team and the Executive Team.Coordinate with Marketing, Retail, Supply Chain, Design, and other departments to ensure cohesive execution of category strategies.Drive cross-functional projects and initiatives to enhance category performance and operational efficiency.About You10+ years' experience in Sales, Category or Product or Trade Marketing.Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, finance, or a related field.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional and global teams.Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis, interpretation, and financial management, along with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.Experience in managing and leading a diverse team.Experience in the furniture industry would be highly regarded.King Living Benefits and Our Offer to YouCareer development and ongoing training.Supportive and friendly team environment with a true family feel.Generous employee, family, and friends 'product discounts.Discounted health insurance, retail brands, and vouchers.Paid Parental leave.Australian owned company with a growing global footprint.EAP to support your ongoing health and wellbeing.This role is based at our Design and Support Centre at Turrella.
