The OpportunityWe are seeking a Head of Category to lead the strategic direction and management of our product assortment and categories globally.
This leadership role involves building and managing a category management team to optimise portfolio performance, ensuring strong decision-making and strategic alignment to drive growth and profitability.
The Head of Category will be responsible for the health of the product portfolio, overseeing the lifecycle management of existing products, and leading the creation and integration of new products.
The RoleDevelop and implement category strategies and annual plans that align with the company's overall objectives and drive market growthSet strategic goals and KPIs for category performance, ensuring alignment with financial targets and business objectivesIdentify and evaluate new market opportunities and category expansion strategiesIn-depth understanding and comprehensive market analysis to identify opportunities, trends, and competitive dynamics across different regionsManage the oversee product lifecycles, including product development, pricing, and promotion strategiesDevelop and implement pricing strategies to optimise revenue and profitabilityWork closely with Design, R&D, Marketing, Supply Chain teams to create innovative and market-leading furniture productsCollaborate with supply chain and sales to optimise product assortment and inventory levelsDevelop and track KPIs to ensure category goals are met and financial targets are achieved, including reporting and recommendations to the Executive TeamAnalyse sales data and performance metrics to assess category success and identify areas for improvementDevelop and manage the category budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and cost controlMonitor financial performance, including profitability, margin analysis, and return on investmentCollaborate with members of the Global Leadership Team and the Executive TeamCoordinate with Marketing, Retail, Supply Chain, Design and other departments to ensure cohesive execution of category strategiesDrive cross-functional projects and initiatives to enhance category performance and operational efficiencyAbout You10+ years' experience in Sales, Category or Product or Trade MarketingBachelor's degree in business, marketing, finance, or a related fieldStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional and global teams.Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis, interpretation, and financial management, along with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.Experience in managing and leading a diverse teamExperience in furniture industry would be highly regardedKing Living Benefits and Our Offer to YouCareer development and ongoing trainingSupportive and friendly team environment with a true family feelGenerous employee, family, and friends 'product discountsDiscounted health insurance, retail brands and vouchersPaid Parental leave.Australian owned company with a growing global footprintEAP to support your ongoing health and wellbeing.This role is based at our Design and Support Centre at Turrella.
