An exciting opportunity exists for a highly skilled, innovative and experienced educational leader to join our senior leadership team. The West Moreton Education and Training Centre is a co-educational campus, which delivers educational programs for up to 32 remanded and sentenced young people at the West Moreton Detention Centre located in Wacol.
The successful applicant will work collaboratively with the senior leadership team and key stakeholders from interdepartmental agencies to establish, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focused on providing quality learning outcomes for all students. The curriculum focuses on individualised literacy and numeracy learning, vocational training and social development of students utilising restorative practice principles, to prepare students for successful transition to school, employment and further training.

Queensland Education and Training Centre (QETC) is a multi-campus, Department of Education school operating within South-East Queensland's Youth Detention Centres at Wacol. The school plays an important role in the community by providing young people in detention with the opportunity to gain knowledge, skills, and values that can enhance their capacity to pursue positive choices in the future. All QETC campuses work under a 48-week school year delivery model.
About the Role The Head of Campus is directly accountable to the Executive Principal and is entrusted with the overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the school. The successful applicant will be committed to implementing an improvement agenda underpinned by the school vision statement of "unlocking learning". The ideal applicant will have expertise in student-centred learning with the ability to lead the campus in its responsibility to close individual skills gaps, develop language, develop positive behaviours and social skills and develop pathways.
As the Head of Campus, you will have responsibility for the following:
Leadership of the school community in partnership with the Executive Principal to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focused on providing quality learning outcomes for all students; Development and cultivation of productive partnerships with partner agencies co-located onsite; Development and implementation of policies and procedures that embed socially just practices in daily school life; Establishment of a high-expectations school for student and staff performance; Active participation in life-long learning and ongoing professional development; Formation of productive partnerships with caregivers, other government agencies, community groups, industry and business; Interpretation and implementation of the legislation and policies that impact schooling; Management of resources to achieve goals.
