Reporting to the Managing Director, you'll be an integral part of the Australia-based leadership team, contributing to setting the strategic direction of the company and executing responsibilities to align the delivery of business development strategies to the overall objectives of the company.
With an Asia-Pacific remit, this role leads a team of business development professionals and focuses on the development, implementation and leadership of business development activities including market intelligence, strategic planning, tactical marketing requirements, relationship management and proposal and tender negotiation and management.
The Head of Business Development collaborates with relevant global teams to advance Customer adoption of rail services solutions offerings within APAC markets.Duties & ResponsibilitiesAs the Head of Business Development, you will be responsible for identifying and leading strategic initiatives and best practices that continue to position the business as the respected leader and supplier of choice and as a trusted partner in solving complex customer problems in the industry they serve.
This may include, but not be limited to:Identify and lead strategic initiatives and best practices that position the business as the respected leader and supplier of choice within the solutions they offer and as a trusted partner in solving complex customer problems in the railway industry.Develop and maintain deep relationships with long term and prospective Customers and their key decision makers.Collaborate with colleagues to conduct competitive analyses and pricing models to expand solutions offerings to create profitable growth and diversification strategies.Cultivate and develop top-level industry relationships, maintain an awareness of current industry trends and actively participate in railroad industry events and organisations in order to predict competitive behaviours, enhance the company's brand, and identify business opportunities.Formulate targets and KPIs aligned with business development strategies.Build internal and external collaborative relationships with a range of stakeholders locally and globally to ensure consistent application of sales and marketing strategies to achieve business goals and objectives in Asia Pacific.Lead a team of business development professionals and develop their capabilities to meet current and future needs in expertise, including ensuring effective succession planning for all pivotal positions.Lead the identification of new business ventures and M&A opportunities and collaborate to plan approaches and market entries.Collaborate with global colleagues to lead the Asia Pacific advertising strategy and implementation.Skills & ExperienceStrong business development, relationship management, and commercial acumen.Demonstrated experience in similar Customer facing sales role.Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, including at the C-Suite and Board of Director levels.Well-developed leadership skills including the ability to influence with and without direct authority.Business experience in Asia Pacific region preferred.Formal and postgraduate qualifications in Business or a related field preferred.What's on OfferThe Head of Business Development will demonstrate visionary leadership and strategic mindset, customer focus, a drive for results, and the ability to instill trust.
