Are you ready to lead and shape the future of credit risk management at BOQ Group, within our strategically important BOQ Finance (BOQF) business? As our Head of Credit Risk - BOQ Finance, you'll be at the forefront of our efforts to enhance our credit risk appetite across various specialist segments, including Equipment Finance, Structured Finance, Vendor Finance, Novated Leasing, Dealer Finance, and Insurance Premium Funding (IPF).
Your leadership will be pivotal in managing high-volume, small-ticket credit risk applications, as well as more complex credit proposals. You'll oversee the workflow, coach and mentor your team, and ensure that our credit risk standards are met with precision and excellence. A key element will be an ongoing focus on transformation as we move forward on our automation and digitisation journey.
In this role, you'll lead our BOQF Credit Risk Team, ensuring alignment with BOQ Group's Purpose, Values and proposition strategies. You'll manage and assess credit risk applications and collaborate with internal and external partners to build effective relationships and promote a prudent credit culture. You'll also contribute to the development of credit policies and support the achievement of the Bank's business strategy and growth targets.

About you
You're a seasoned credit risk professional with proven tenure in similar roles across Finance Company and mainstream Banking organisations a critical element. Your background in people management and credit risk is complemented by your strong customer service orientation and ability to navigate complex financial structures. You have a proven track record of exercising credit approval authority and a keen understanding of key business drivers and success factors.
Your skills include strong analytical abilities to assess financial statements and corporate structures. You possess excellent communication and consultation skills, with the ability to write effective reports and facilitate group discussions.
Your empathetic interpersonal skills and professional, balanced approach to leadership are commendable. You have strong negotiation and dispute resolution skills and are committed to training and guiding your team, managing work priorities, and adapting to changing deadlines.
Knowledge of relevant legislation, including Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act, National Consumer Credit Protection Act, and more, will put you in good stead for this role.
