We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as the Head of Strategy and Practice Management for our Internal Audit Function.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of our internal audit processes, as well as managing the overall practice of internal audit within the organization.

You will report to the General Manager Group Audit, lead the Strategy Practice Management and Transformation audit team and be responsible for the following:
Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for the internal audit function, in alignment with the bank's goals and objectives.Lead the development and execution of annual audit plans for the bank, ensuring that audits are conducted in a timely and efficient manner.Identify and implement best practices in internal audit methodology and tools, including technology and data analytics, to enhance the quality of audits and increase efficiency within the Australian banking environment.Provide guidance and support to audit teams, ensuring that they have the necessary resources and training to perform their roles effectively.Monitor and report on the performance of the internal audit function, including key metrics and trends specific to the banking industry.Stay informed on industry trends and emerging best practices in internal audit within the Australian banking sector and incorporate them into the bank's audit strategy as appropriate.Ensure effective regulatory engagement with Group Audit, including responses to requests.Managing matters related to Group Audit that may affect the prudential reputation of the Group (through leading the Group Audit BCM team, including key risk, compliance, control, issue and incident management activities)Monitoring Group Audit in accordance with Group Audit's frameworks and policies (including the Group Audit Methodology and its supporting documents, for example through the QAIP)Leading uplift and measurement of Group Audit's culture What's in it for me?

What do I need?

To be successful you will have the following:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. CA, CPA, CIA, or other relevant certifications preferred.Minimum of 15 years of experience in internal audit, risk management or similar function, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within the Financial Services industry.Strong understanding of internal audit methodologies, tools, and best practices specific to the banking sector.Excellent communication and relationship skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders and influence at all levels.Proven ability to develop and implement strategic plans and drive process improvements within the banking environment.Strong project management, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced banking setting.
