Head, NAPLAN Data & Reporting Join us to make a difference for all students in NSW! Position details Clerk Grade 11/12 Ongoing, full-time role Close to Wynyard station & hybrid work arrangements available About the role: As Head of NAPLAN, Data & Reporting at the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA), you'll lead a dedicated team responsible for managing critical data workflows across NAPLAN assessments, providing key insights to support the educational progress of students in NSW. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape how literacy and numeracy data is collected, analysed and reported, making a tangible impact on educational outcomes. You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring that NAPLAN data processes are seamless, accurate and aligned with NESA's standards, making this position ideal for a data-driven leader passionate about quality education. Your key responsibilities will include: Leading end-to-end strategic project planning and governance to ensure timely and effective delivery of complex data initiatives. Overseeing risk management and quality assurance processes for NAPLAN data projects as well as business as usual tasks. Collaborating strategically with stakeholders to communicate project goals, manage expectations and address emerging issues. Using your well-developed communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships and develop a high-performing team of data professionals. Providing high quality advice on complex data issues and ensuring project objectives align with NESA's strategic priorities. Coordinating with external partners and vendors to support the effective delivery of the NAPLAN program. Our ideal candidate will have: Proven experience managing high-stakes data projects in a structured, deadline-driven environment. Strong team leadership skills, including experience managing data analysts and engineers, as well as the ability to positively contribute to a diverse leadership team. Proficiency in designing and implementing data solutions, with skills in coding languages such as SQL, R and Python. Demonstrated ability to develop and navigate complex stakeholder relationships, from internal departments to external educational bodies. A background in data governance, implementing risk management and designing quality assurance approaches, ideally within an educational or governmental context. Download the role description.
