HEAD-CHEF WANTED IN ICONIC VENUE IN PERTH, WA The Windsor Hotel, based in South Perth, is a large, established venue.
We pride ourselves on excellent customer service, and we are looking for well-presented staff with a can-do attitude, who work hard with a big smile on their face. Our restaurant is fast-paced, and we are looking for team players who pride themselves on creating a happy customer experience.
With three food service areas and a pizza kitchen.
About the role Job title – HEAD CHEF
Reports to – HOTEL MANAGER
Key Responsibilities: Financial control: Overlook ordering & receiving of goods, checking prices of all goods coming into the kitchen, maintaining quality of produce, overseeing storage of produce, maintaining a properly recorded wastage record, costing all menu items. Wage control: An intricate knowledge of all employees, contract details (i.e., overtime awards, penalty rates), to maintain the most cost-effective rosters; a 20% wage cost target should be maintained annually. Food quality: Ensure standards of food are consistent with all employees. Moral/team building: Maintain a positive work environment for all employees. Kitchen cleanliness: Ensure cleaning checklists are completed daily and deep cleans happen periodically. Kitchen maintenance: Follow up on all kitchen maintenance issues with appropriate trades. Delegation: Provide clear instructions to sous chefs and other kitchen staff.
