Slipstream Brewing Co is expanding to the Sunshine Coast and is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Head Chef to join the team and run the kitchen in our new venue; Slipstream Brewing Social House, located in Birtinya.
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the kitchen operations, ensuring a smooth flow of service from the kitchen and an exceptional dining experience for the Sunshine Coast community and beyond.
The new venue has a large seating capacity of 300 pax, a flexible function space offering, and a host of exciting new opportunities. We are seeking a dedicated Head Chef to help us in getting our new venue ready for opening and manage the kitchen operations ongoing.
This role offers the opportunity to establish a new venue experience, build a team, and implement systems and procedures to ensure a successful operation.
The ideal candidate will possess previous kitchen leadership experience and bring a passion for creating great food, in particular food that pairs well with our wide range of beers. The seasonal menu will be modern Queensland influenced with a view to use local ingredients and will feature a large grill section, local seafood as well as bistro classics.
Responsibilities: Create a cohesive and united vision whilst also focusing primarily on kitchen operations and functions.Ensure rigorous adherence to compliance and safety standards for staff and customers.Support the recruitment, induction, and training of a passionate Kitchen team.Manage food, waste, and labour costs in relation to revenue and implement strategies to achieve business targets.Foster a culture of customer engagement, retention, and strong loyalty by leading innovative and targeted themes and initiatives, which maintain venue popularity year-round.Support and coordinate a calendar of functions and events, representing Slipstream in a professional manner at all times.Engage all internal and external stakeholders – staff, contractors, suppliers, and related invoicing to ensure all operations are delivered to exact specification.Maintain high levels of communication between the FOH operations and kitchen team.Bring new ideas to the table, with a focus on future development, weekly specials and innovative beer and food matchings.Complete all role related administration as required.About You: A passionate leader and enthusiastic food lover.Highly organised, with an unwavering focus on occupational health & safety.Energy, enthusiasm, positivity - and bucketloads of it!Proven leadership experience in a busy kitchen.Extensive event and planning experience within the catering or hospitality industry.Accredited Food Safety Supervisor.Financial acumen with regard to forecasting all aspects of kitchen operations.Time management and ability to prioritise tasks.Strong communication, negotiation, and strong relationship skills.Competent user of computers and applications.About Us: Slipstream Brewing Co. are an independent brewery based in Yeerongpilly, Brisbane. Established in 2017, we produce some of the most accessible and sessionable craft beer available. Inspired by beers discovered from visits to the US we make the hops the heroes and our beers hit the bullseye, brewed with nothing but pure flavour in mind. In February 2024, we were honored with the trophy for Queensland's Best Brewery at the Royal Queensland Beer Awards. Alongside our brewery, we run a bustling bar and kitchen in Brisbane with a capacity of 300. We're excited to announce that our Sunshine Coast venue is set to open in October 2024.
