About the role: Join our vibrant social business enterprise as the Head Chef, located at the beautiful Summerland Farm https://www.summerlandfarm.com.au/. In this role, you will be pivotal in delivering exceptional dining experiences by overseeing all aspects of restaurant operations and crafting high-quality, creative, and seasonal menus that drive business growth. You'll work closely with the Retail and Tourism Coordinator to elevate Summerland Farm's food and event services, including weddings, functions, and private events, contributing to our esteemed reputation in the Hospitality and Tourism sector. Your commercial cookery expertise will be key in achieving business goals, ensuring consistency, and surpassing customer expectations. You'll manage kitchen operations, including stock control and budgeting, while leading a diverse team, including staff, apprentices, and employees with disabilities. You'll also innovate menu designs and spearhead the development of new offerings, such as a preserve line. Additionally, you'll drive efforts to tap into new markets and attract corporate functions with a range of diverse food options. Key Responsibilities: Support the creation of a fun and positive workplace culture that respects and supports diversity. Plan and prioritise customer orders, ensuring meals are delivered promptly. Efficiently manage day-to-day operations of the kitchen and back of house, ensuring stock management, prep work, and team coordination run smoothly. Effectively lead, inspire, and develop a diverse team to achieve business outcomes across the kitchen and front of house. Develop creative and diverse menu options aligned with food trends and customer preferences, increasing appeal to new corporate and private function markets. Lead the team to support the restaurant's growth by introducing new food offerings and expanding services, contributing to the strategic use of the property to attract new clientele. Promote Summerland Farm's reputation by providing attractive food options that contribute to hosting multi-day events and corporate functions. Role model and monitor standards for food safety, hygiene, and customer service. Receive excellent customer feedback on food quality, supporting growth in the business and maintaining the restaurant's reputation. About You: Qualifications in Commercial Cookery, at least Cert III level with industry experience. Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willing to obtain). Minimum of 3 years demonstrated experience in Head Chef/kitchen management, appropriate to the role. A demonstrated commitment to Aruma's Code of Conduct. Supervisory skills with a demonstrated ability to lead, inspire, and train a team. Experience in brand development of products. Demonstrated passion for quality food and presentation. Demonstrated knowledge of food safety standards and WHS requirements. Flexibility to work a range of shifts as per hospitality industry requirements, including weekends. A current Australian driver's license. Hold current or willingness to obtain relevant regulatory requirements (as per role and/or State). First Aid Certificate (or willing to obtain).
