We have an exciting new opportunity available in 2025 for a Head Chef to join a Hospitality Team at one of Melbourne's most prestigious colleges in Melbourne's inner eastern suburbs commencing in 2025.
What will your day look like; ? As Head Chef, you will be responsible for the assisting with execution of food for events across the school along with preparation and execution of food for the in-house cafe.
With a focus on high quality catering this role is hands on leading a small team to deliver memorable food experiences You will be part of a high-quality hospitality team working together across both front and back of house areas to deliver a coordinated service for all stakeholders.
What will you bring?
To be successful in the role, you will ideally bring the following: A qualified chef with at least 5 years' experience in high quality hospitality venues Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and service peers Strong experience in high end hotels, educational facilities, restaurants and/or banqueting operations Drive innovation, follow and adopt culinary trends.
Demonstrated leadership and experience in being part of professional kitchen team Exceptional team leading qualities and experience Ability to operate as a Food Safety Supervisor Experience in delivering an upmarket café food offer.
Your key responsibilities will include: Day to day production and assisting with oversight of all food produced and served.
Production of a range of contemporary cuisines and service styles including buffets, formal dinners and cocktail parties.
Financial and operational management of the kitchens, including all compliance requirements Ensuring only the very highest standards of food presentation & creativity Recruiting, inducting, and training kitchen staff as required Assisting with the management of staffing requirements and rosters Stock Management – ordering & replenishing stock Supervise and co-ordinate kitchen.
Brief staff daily on all aspects of food service.
Work according to all safe work procedures.
Maintain compliance for both school and Trippas White Group.

Strong understanding of all aspects of menu planning disciplines Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced, dynamic work environment.
