We have a full-time position for a Head Chef available in North Ward QLD 4810.
SKILLS
The position requires a minimum of a Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery & Diploma of Hospitality Management (or equivalent) and 2 years of relevant work experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Head Chef, you will lead kitchen operations with efficiency and precision, managing all aspects of staff coordination, menu development, and meal preparation to ensure outstanding food quality and customer service. Serving as the main point of contact for kitchen staff, you will also work closely with cafe management to align kitchen performance with overall goals. This role calls for a skilled and motivated individual, dedicated to delivering excellence in every aspect.
DUTIES
You will undertake the following duties:
Menu development, including creating and executing menus for all service periods Communicating and working closely with management to drive sales, growth and service delivery Maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene Overseeing the kitchen roster, ensuring adequate staffing across all shifts Training, monitoring, and mentoring of all kitchen staff Assisting and monitoring the preparation, cooking and presentation of dishes Tasting dishes to ensure correct flavour and seasoning Overseeing, implementing and recording kitchen compliance including food safety, WHS and quality Accommodating special dietary requirements with an emphasis on quality and presentation Providing exceptional customer service and responding to feedback Overseeing inventory, ordering and stock management Building relationships with suppliers to source fresh, high-quality ingredients Keeping up to date with culinary trends, integrating popular food concepts into the menu as appropriate Developing systems to ensure rapid order turnaround during peak service hours, including quick assembly techniques and efficient cookline setups Incorporating fresh, seasonal produce into menus to keep offerings appealing and relevant to the season SALARY
The position offers a salary of $75,000 - $85,000 negotiated based on your experience.
