We are a large modern licensed Club in the heart of the Toowoomba CBD. Members and guests to the region are drawn to our club, enjoying state-of-the-art amenities with a variety of beverage, dining and entertainment offerings all delivered with exceptional provide our members and guests with both a Restaurant and Café. We operate 7 days a week with food being a predominant driver of the are looking for a motivated and experienced Head Chef to lead our Team and manage the back of house operations of both our Club Restaurant and Café. You will be the first in command and will create and inspect dishes before they arrive at the customers ensuring high quality service. You will manage a team of kitchen hands, cooks, and chefs to ensure efficient and effective service. A qualified Chef with relevant Commercial Cookery qualifications Minimum 2-3 years as a Head Chef with an excellent record in a busy environmentAbility to work in a high volume and past paced environment. Demonstrated leadership skills - able to motivate and upskill a team.Proven ability of kitchen management.Outstanding communication and leadership skillsUp to date with culinary trends and kitchen processesOutstanding knowledge of Food safety processes and obligationsClear understanding of workplace health and safety Working rights in AustraliaYou must be able to work a rotational roster; days, nights and weekends including public holidays.Your responsibilities will include: -Creating a work environment that promotes teamwork and recognition.Maintain high level food standards in line with the vision of the brand.Mentoring staff members and promoting staff succession planning.Handle food storage activities & ordering of goods.Monitor pricing from suppliers to ensure cost of goods is maintained.Rostering of staff in line with business demands and in line with labour budgets.Control and direct the food preparation process and any other relative activities.Construct menus with new or existing culinary creations ensuring the variety and quality of the servings.Approve and "polish" dishes before they reach the customer.Plan orders of equipment or ingredients according to identified shortages.Oversee the work of subordinates. Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.Work Health & Safety responsibilities.Handle all escalated customer queries and will be rewarded for your efforts with: -An attractive salary package including meals.Flexible working week with 2 consecutive days offSuperannuation in addition to salary figureA workplace where individuals are respected, and a work life balance is valued.
