We have a full-time position for a Head Chef available in North Ward QLD 4810.SKILLSThe position requires a minimum of a Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery & Diploma of Hospitality Management (or equivalent) and 2 years of relevant work experience.RESPONSIBILITIESAs the Head Chef, you will lead kitchen operations with efficiency and precision, managing all aspects of staff coordination, menu development, and meal preparation to ensure outstanding food quality and customer service. Serving as the main point of contact for kitchen staff, you will also work closely with cafe management to align kitchen performance with overall goals. This role calls for a skilled and motivated individual, dedicated to delivering excellence in every aspect.DUTIESYou will undertake the following duties:Menu development, including creating and executing menus for all service periodsCommunicating and working closely with management to drive sales, growth and service deliveryMaintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygieneOverseeing the kitchen roster, ensuring adequate staffing across all shiftsTraining, monitoring, and mentoring of all kitchen staffAssisting and monitoring the preparation, cooking and presentation of dishesTasting dishes to ensure correct flavour and seasoningOverseeing, implementing and recording kitchen compliance including food safety, WHS and qualityAccommodating special dietary requirements with an emphasis on quality and presentationProviding exceptional customer service and responding to feedbackOverseeing inventory, ordering and stock managementBuilding relationships with suppliers to source fresh, high-quality ingredientsKeeping up to date with culinary trends, integrating popular food concepts into the menu as appropriateDeveloping systems to ensure rapid order turnaround during peak service hours, including quick assembly techniques and efficient cookline setupsIncorporating fresh, seasonal produce into menus to keep offerings appealing and relevant to the seasonSALARYThe position offers a salary of $75,000 - $85,000 negotiated based on your experience.TO APPLYApplications in Word format should be forwarded to us by clicking the 'Apply' button below.
