Hello Melbournites! We are looking for an experienced Head Chef to join our talented culinary team at Far East Company Pty Ltd in the beautiful coastal town of Byron Bay, NSW. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, menu development, and the delivery of exceptional dining experiences for our guests. This is a full-time role.
What you'll be doing Manage and lead the kitchen team, including scheduling, training, and performance reviewsDevelop and implement creative, high-quality seasonal menus that showcase local, fresh produceEnsure strict compliance with food safety and hygiene regulationsMonitor food and labour costs, and implement measures to optimise profitabilityFoster a positive, collaborative, and productive kitchen cultureLiaise with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service deliveryParticipate in menu tastings and promotional eventsWhat we're looking for Minimum 5 years of experience as a Head Chef or in a senior culinary role - Thai cuisine experience preferred.Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing kitchen teamsExcellent knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and cost control practicesStrong creativity and flair for designing innovative, seasonal menusPassion for using fresh, locally sourced ingredientsExceptional communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environmentWhat we offer
