The Opportunity We are looking for a strong, seasoned Head Chef to lead our kitchen team. This is a hands-on role where you'll oversee daily operations, with a focus on compliance and setting high standards of quality and safety.
Reporting to the Culinary Director, you will play a critical role in managing kitchen operations, establishing effective processes, and fostering a positive, high-performing team culture.
Oversee kitchen operations across our food and beverage establishments within the hotel, with a focus on our banquet and event services. Monitor kitchen stock, manage inventory, and ensure quality control in all areas of food preparation. Lead, mentor and develop a young and growing team, setting clear expectations and providing continuous support to achieve operational excellence. Implement and enforce compliance with all OH&S and food safety regulations. Establish and refine kitchen procedures to promote efficiency, consistency, and a safe working environment. Our successful candidate will have:
Minimum three years' experience as a Head Chef or in a senior culinary position, ideally within a hotel setting. However, experience in a larger restaurant, catering operation, or modern pub, would also be highly valued. Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team. Strong understanding of kitchen operations, including food safety and compliance with OH&S regulations. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with team members across departments and maintain a positive, supportive work culture. The capability to manage and uphold high standards in a fast-paced environment with a solution-oriented approach.
