Our Multi-Level Venue space is situated in the cultural heart of Brisbane, Fortitude Valley and has a luxuriously captivating ambience and style in our historical yet chic multi-level 100-year-old building. Our venue plays host to intimate weddings and lavish events.
Position Overview: We're on the lookout for an experienced chef to join our culinary crew. You'll be at the heart of the action, running kitchen operations during service and coordinating food prep for the catered events.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency and quality.
Prepare and present food in line with our menu and standards.
Manage and rotate stock.
Work autonomously and collaboratively within a small team.
Collaborate with the Function Operations Manager and Event Manager and front of house team to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
Coordinate food prep for catering and events.
Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment.
Develop function packages to deliver exceptional experiences to corporate, private, wedding, and various clients.
Manage kitchen operations, and ensure kitchen food and labor costs remain within budget, implementing cost-saving measures where possible.
Maintain rigorous standards of hygiene and cleanliness in line with regulations.
Requirements:
At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to thrive under pressure.
A true passion for food and a commitment to delivering excellence for each event.
Be available nights and weekends.
The Ideal Candidate:
Holds a Certificate IV in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) or equivalent.
Possesses a Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
Brings a minimum of three years' experience in a similar leadership role.
Demonstrates culinary expertise across diverse cuisines and modern cooking techniques.
Exhibits strong financial acumen and the ability to manage kitchen costs effectively.
Has excellent interpersonal skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
