D A L T O N Catering, Queensland's premier catering company, is recruiting a highly creative and hands-on Head Chef to lead our team, in both our production kitchen and in the delivery of off-site events. The current Head Chef is relocating back to Europe and the opportunity for a 2-3 month in-person handover will be a huge benefit to you and the business.

Your role: Working closely with your team, you will be responsible for executing innovative food concepts and delivering events to our many high-profile VIP and corporate clients. Play an important role in the overall delivery of event logistics and set-up. Create innovative menus for all facets of event catering. Be responsible for sourcing high-quality fresh produce and managing daily ordering + quality control alongside your team. Lead and supervise high-expectation catered events. Provide guidance to our team of chefs. Work as part of a high-performing, close-knit team and contribute to our positive workplace culture. Available for immediate start. Your profile: High-end (fine dining) restaurant and/or catering experience. Understanding and experience with Open Fire a bonus. Proven capability for producing high-quality, innovative food and menus. Competent with menu costing and minimising wastage. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Impeccable personal and professional presentation. A strong personal desire to succeed and always strive for excellence. A reliable and dependable team player who leads by example and contributes to overall team performance. Stable employment history and career progression – true industry professionals only, job hoppers and tyre kickers need not apply. Proven experience leading a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Additional Information: Competitive salary + super (negotiable). Parking and close proximity to all Fortitude Valley transport hubs. Work Tuesday to Saturday - Sundays & Mondays off. Work mostly during the day 8 am-4 pm. Work only 1-2 evenings per week - no double shifts. Excellent work-life balance, suitable for those with a family.
