Overview: The Lodgement and Quality Assurance Manager will lead a team to develop and implement robust systems, policies, and processes to ensure the organisation meets its legislative responsibilities for accurate and timely quarterly returns. These returns are crucial as they determine the levy payable, including key worker details such as hours worked and ordinary pay received.
Key Responsibilities: Lead, manage, and inspire the lodgement and quality assurance team, fostering a high-performance culture in a dynamic environment. Utilise a supportive and influential approach to ensure the team meets performance measures outlined in the corporate plan. Training and Development: Assess team skills, identify gaps, and provide targeted training and development opportunities to enhance efficiency in systems, processes, and controls. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning within the team. Quarterly Returns: Oversee the accurate and timely lodgement of quarterly returns, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements. Monitor and follow up on overdue returns, provide extensions when appropriate, and ensure thorough data validation and necessary adjustments. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, facilitating a collaborative partnership approach. Communicate effectively to ensure stakeholders are informed and engaged with the processes and requirements. Strategic Support: Support the team in defining and building strategic direction, promoting a positive culture and performance to achieve organisational priorities. Work closely with the Head of Finance in the development and delivery of the business unit plan and performance targets, ensuring alignment with legislative requirements and the corporate plan. Reporting: Prepare and present accurate, timely, and comprehensive reports, including detailed financial reports and operational briefs. Provide clear insights and analysis to support informed decision-making and operational improvements. Process Improvement: Lead comprehensive process mapping initiatives to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and teams to drive process enhancements and implement best practices. Ethical Standards: Uphold and support public service values, ensuring adherence to ethical standards and professionalism. Promote and integrate workplace respect, equity, diversity, and health and safety principles into daily practices. Minimum Requirements: A Finance, Commerce, or other relevant tertiary degree. Experience working in a regulatory body or public service in a similar role. Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and customer relationship management software.
