Your new role
As a key member of the Budget and Systems section, the Manager of External Budgets and Reporting will play a vital role within a small team. Under broad direction, you'll handle complex tasks and deliver essential outcomes for the Agency's external budget needs. You'll use your decision-making skills and judgement to develop costings and models that support the Agency's submissions, new policy proposals, budget briefings, and presentations for senior executives and the Agency Board. Additionally, you'll respond to requests from central agencies and manage ad-hoc financial reporting.

What you'll need to succeed
To excel in this role, you should have:
Strong decision-making abilities and judgement. Expertise in developing financial models and costings. Experience preparing budget briefings and presentations within Government. The ability to work independently and liaise with various stakeholders, including senior executives, business units, the Department of Health and Aged Care, and central agencies. A deep understanding of Commonwealth budget and resource management frameworks. Knowledge of the Agency's role and operating environment to inform financial models and costings. Experience preparing Senate Estimates briefs and other required reporting. What you'll get in return

Lead a small team responsible for the Agency's external budget function. Monitor the external budget environment and approval processes to ensure quality outcomes. Contribute to the broader operation of the Finance branch, including internal budget processes. Strengthen partnerships across the Finance Branch and business through involvement in financial projects, automation initiatives, and simplification programs.
