Your new role Develop and maintain cost control systems and procedures to monitor and analyse costs. Prepare and analyse monthly cost reports, identifying variances and trends. Ensure costs are correctly allocated in conjunction with Finance and review and adjust costs to date information for accuracy. Collaborate with project owners to provide cost estimates and budgets for new projects. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, providing insights based on historical data. Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements, presenting recommendations to management. Monitor procurement and contracting processes to ensure cost-effective purchasing and compliance with budgetary constraints. Identify potential cost-related risks and propose mitigation strategies to management. Review weekly and monthly reports sent by Finance and provide on the ground understanding of key drivers and abnormalities in the detail of the reports. Collaborate with Finance and local AP & AR functions to ensure accuracy of monthly financial results. Create and develop excel templates to assist operations staff in streamlining tasks and processes. Financial support of day-to-day business operations including investigation, analysis as required relating to Auriga Marine operations. Provide support to the Managing Director of Marine as required, including ad hoc analytical analysis and creation of reporting dashboards. Digitalisation of business processes and continuous improvement, proactively drive an environment of continuous improvement with stakeholders to identify and drive process change. Identify and implement opportunities that improve processes and reporting. What you'll need to succeed Tertiary qualification in a relevant field or equivalent industry experience. Proven experience as a cost controller, financial analyst, or in a similar role. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial data clearly. Strong analytical skills with a detail-oriented mindset. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Xero is a plus. Be self-driven and can consistently meet all deadlines. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Ability to work through issues and recommend a course of action. Ability to provide hands-on support as required. Finance, accounting background fundamental skills. Demonstrated and proven analytical experience preferably within an operational environment.
