About Frenchville Sports Club
Since humble beginnings, Frenchville Sports Club has grown into Central Queensland's largest sporting club and Queensland's Club of the Year in 2023. Today they're home to 9 sports for all ages, including basketball, wheelchair basketball, cricket, hockey, indoor bowls, netball, rugby union, football (soccer) and softball.
Frenchville Sports Club offers a diverse range of food, beverage & entertainment options for members & guests to enjoy. Recently, the Club has embarked on an ambitious masterplan development, which includes a newly opened gaming room featuring 145 gaming machines, reception, bottle shop and solar carpark facilities. Further expansions are underway that include a revamped café, canteen, bistro, cocktail bar & lounge, sports bar and outdoor terrace. This transformation aims to enhance the member experience and create a more modern and welcoming environment for all.
Your new role
With a member centric approach, the CFO will be a visionary and strategic financial leader with a passion for driving growth and innovation, steering Frenchville Sports Club's financial strategies with exposure to property development, debt financing, hospitality, club or gaming.
Reporting to the CEO the CFO will be responsible for:
Lead the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with Frenchville Sports Club's strategic goals.
Develop and implement comprehensive debt financing strategies to optimise capital structure and manage financial risk effectively.
Provide expert financial analysis and insights to guide decision-making across various business units (gaming, F&B, events and other business areas) and projects.
Collaborate with the CEO and executive leadership team to drive revenue enhancement initiatives and identify opportunities for operational efficiency.
Oversee financial reporting and compliance with industry regulations, accounting standards, and legal requirements.
Manage banking relations, building and maintaining strong relationships to secure funding and support to drive Frenchville Sports Club's growth.
Hands on leader to foster a high-performing finance team, providing mentorship and guidance to ensure professional development and success.
Additionally, the CFO will have sufficient skill sets to deal with the strategic direction of the Club regarding the Masterplan particularly with regard to specific modelling and business plans associated with the future development of Frenchville Sports Club.
What you'll need to succeed
Experience
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA/CA qualification preferred.
Proven experience as a CFO or in a senior finance role within hospitality, club, gaming, property development or related sectors.
A highly credible CFO or finance professional that demonstrates strategic and operational excellence, a consultative but decisive leadership style and has strong values that are aligned to the local community. Further demonstrable skills will include excellent commercial acumen, exceptional execution skills that achieve high performance outcomes and an ability to engage people to deliver on a compelling vision.
The successful CFO candidate will be an outstanding leader, an excellent communicator with high emotional intelligence and display strong personal attributes that allow you to mix comfortably with people from all walks of life. The Club requires a leader with a warm and personally engaging style that passionately supports the member focussed environment.
