Hatchery Technician

Proserpine, Queensland, Australia - Temporary We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Hatchery Assistant to join our team in Proserpine. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful rearing of young prawns in our state-of-the-art hatchery.
Key Responsibilities: Feeding prawns according to a strict schedule and nutritional requirements Maintaining a clean and hygienic environment within the hatchery and prawn tanks Monitoring and managing water quality parameters to optimize prawn health and growth Thoroughly disinfecting equipment and maintaining biosecurity protocols Providing general animal husbandry care, including observing for signs of disease or stress You will be working a 2/2/3 roster (that's 2 days on/2 days off/3 days on/2 days off) so you'll get a long weekend every 2nd week. This is a temporary role and will see you working until the first week of January 2025.

Previous experience in aquaculture or animal husbandry is preferred but not essential Ability to work in varying environments - including both inside in an air-conditioned facility and also outdoors in the heat and weather Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures Physically fit and capable of handling repetitive tasks Reliable and committed to working as part of a team Contact Information Tassal Group
