As part of a small hands-on team, the Hatchery Technician plays an integral part in supporting the Hatchery operations to ensure the welfare of our fish is maintained at a high standard. This position is a fantastic opportunity for graduates and those interested in building a career within an innovative aquaculture industry leader.
ABOUT THE ROLE Reporting to the Hatchery Manager, the Hatchery Technician is responsible for:Routine water quality system monitoring and completion of all required paperwork.Data entry, weight checking, grading, and feeding of the fish.General maintenance and cleaning of equipment.These roles generally operate on a full-time basis with a 7 day on, 7 day off roster. You may be required to cover overnight shifts to monitor and respond to site alarm systems.
LOCATIONS Our Hatcheries are in various locations across Northern and Southern Tasmania.
ABOUT YOU We are seeking motivated individuals who have a desire to grow in the field of Aquaculture and fish husbandry. With the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, you will also have a keen eye for detail and a proactive focus on continually looking to improve processes. Bonus points if you are already across Huon's visions and values!
