Hatchery Supervisor

The fish are grown within a unique saltwater wetland system, where the water is cleaned using saltwater grasses and repeatedly recirculated. The business is currently celebrating 30 years of sustainable growth, demonstrating outstanding and stable career opportunities.Role ResponsibilitiesThis position oversees the spawning of fish, egg incubation, and fry rearing. It is responsible for the day-to-day scheduling and management of operational activities within the hatchery, including optimising efficiency, minimising waste, delivering on-ground outcomes in fish production, and ensuring compliance with the quality and safety standards of the company. Key responsibilities are:Live feed productionBroodstock handling and careFish feedingLarval rearingFish stock handling and gradingFish healthData collection and inputResearch and development projectsWater quality monitoring and analysisSystem cleaning, sterilisation, and maintenanceRequirementsRelevant qualifications and or experience in Aquaculture, Agriculture, Horticulture or Science related field (certificate, diploma or degree)Larval rearing and live feed production experience is highly desirableMust have a current driver's licenseOwn reliable transportHigh attention to detail and willingness to learnRemuneration and LocationThis role offers an outstanding lifestyle position in a pristine location in the Northern Territory.
