We're looking for Hatchery Assistants to join the team! The role may involve assisting in receiving and preparing eggs for incubation, incubating eggs, grading, vaccinating, preparing, and shipping day old chicks, cleaning hatcher processing areas and associated duties.
To be successful in this role you must be fit and healthy and be able to work on your feet all day, rotating tasks; combined with the ability to meet biosecurity standards such as not having any outside contact with any live birds, chickens or pigs and also following procedures to shower in and out of the facility at the beginning and end of each shift.
The ideal candidate would be available weekdays and also available to commit to working weekends as required. Work clothes and boots will be supplied and laundered on site.
Skills / Experience: Reliable and hard-working attitude. Ability to communicate and work well in a team. Be fit and healthy (be able to work on your feet all day, and pass a medical screening). Meet biosecurity standards (no contact with live birds, chickens or pigs) + follow shower in/out procedures. Have reliable transport to work. Be available to work some weekends, although mainly Monday to Friday. There are many great reasons to join the Aviagen team.
