About the Job: As a Casual Harvest Operator, you will be required to operate a variety of machinery to harvest our product while focusing on the safety of your team, the prawns, and yourself. You will be required to operate a variety of site machinery, including backhoes, excavators, skid steers, moxies, graders, and trucks.
Proserpine: Nestled amidst the picturesque Whitsundays, our Proserpine Prawn Farm—Australia's largest of its kind—offers a unique opportunity. Located halfway between Airlie Beach and Bowen, this role provides a stunning backdrop for your daily commute.
What does your week look like? Harvesting Prawns: Skillfully operate a backhoe to extract prawns from our aquaculture ponds. Safety Focused: Deliver high-quality work while maintaining a safe and productive work environment. General Tasks: Deliver civil works needs as required when harvest timing allows. This could include waste pile removal, roadworks, firebreaks, groundskeeping, seaweed harvesting, truck driving, or any other relevant works. What can you bring? A backhoe or excavator licence is essential in this role. Basic technology skills and experience using an iPad. Any aquaculture/agriculture experience is highly desirable but not essential.
