Director of Finance | Company Secretary - Perth Anglican School

Harry Maxwell has been engaged to conduct an executive search for a dynamic and results-driven executive level Director of Finance to lead a team covering finance, ICT, risk, compliance, property, and commercial functions.
Reporting to the Principal, the Director of Finance and Company Secretary will be an integral member of meetings for the School Council and its committees.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record demonstrating modern leadership of finance functions at senior and executive levels with elite influencing and engaging skills.
Responsibilities
Review, lead and improve the School's financial strategies, policies, and procedures.
Oversee the financial and accounting functions of the School and associated entities including appropriate forecasting models for cash flow, financial performance, and capital budgets.
Manage the preparation of all financial reports as required by the School Council.
Ensure effective performance of the School's finance operation through exemplary financial modelling, efficient systems and processes, and effective leadership.
Act as the School's first point of contact with auditors and banking stakeholders, compiling information and responding to queries.
Ensure all business-focussed activities comply with the Church, School purpose, statutory obligations, relevant acts, legal demands, and professional ethical standards.
Maintain current knowledge of sources of funding, capital grant opportunities, relevant legislation, competitor, and industry-wide trends in the delivery of education and the impact on the School.
Key Requirements
A relevant professional qualification in Finance (Essential).
Membership of Professional Association preferably CPA or CA (Essential).
Ability to provide business advice and operate strategically within a complex organisation.
Well-developed business acumen skills with the ability to re-design business processes and to produce well-researched reports for Board/Committee meetings.
Previous experience as Company Secretary.
Full rights to work and ability to travel domestically.
Current driver's license and ability to provide a clear Police Clearance and Working with Children Check.
