As a Production Supervisor you will be the driving force behind our successful team, helping to grow the business within our brand new state of the art warehouse!
Position Summary:
Harris Farm Markets is seeking a motivated and experienced Production Supervisor to lead our dynamic production team. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for driving the team to meet and exceed key performance indicators related to quality, food safety, operational excellence, and financial benchmarks. Your leadership will support the ongoing development of our team members as we strive for market leadership and continuous improvement across all operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Compliance: Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures. Maintain high housekeeping standards and ensure production areas meet cleanliness standards. Oversee food safety practices, conducting regular quality checks on labels, temperature controls, and product specifications. Monitor team compliance with company policies and report breaches for corrective action. Educate staff on health and safety protocols using our WHSMS. Ensure that safety incidents are reported and documented immediately. Allocate appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) for team members and oversee safe startup procedures. Operations: Lead staff rotation and oversee production processes to ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP standards. Manage day-to-day production operations, ensuring efficiency and adherence to established processes. Work closely with the Production Manager to address downtime and machinery issues. Facilitate weekly team meetings to ensure effective communication from line operators to management. Support the production team with necessary resources and equipment to complete orders to specification. Administration: Provide accurate reporting and feedback on production performance and operations. Ensure optimal staff coverage through effective rostering. People Management: Ensure all employees receive the training and competency development needed for their roles. Conduct probationary and performance reviews to foster personal development. Ensure new starters complete the onsite induction and relevant onboarding paperwork within the first week. Oversee training completion and task assignments for all team members. Other Duties: Take on additional tasks as required, including support for new store openings. Manage your schedule effectively and prioritize urgent tasks in collaboration with the buyer's assistant. Skill Levels / Qualifications:
Minimum of 1-2 years in a supervisory position, preferably in FMCG. Strong organizational and high-level interpersonal skills. Confident communication ability at all levels. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Detail-oriented with strong analytical and decision-making skills.
